The smartphone war in the world is intensifying day by day. And with NEXUS ONE its still got tougher.
Google , which is well known as the most popular & powerful search engine releases its Nexus one phone. NEXUS ONE is another masterpiece from the internet giant GOOGLE, to serve it’s reputation once again.
Google Nexus One is literally a “Smart Phone”. I mean it makes you feel dumb!
Nexus One is manufactured by HTC Mobile. Yet another stupendous creation after HTC Diamond
Its an android based mobile phone that is developed on Android Mobile Technology Platform 2.1 (Eclair).
Android, as you folks might have known is google’s indigenous operating system. Basically Linux oriented. Of course it’s an open source. Folks around the world can use it & contribute for it for free. Not like mean Microsoft people trying to absorb like freaking virus!
You can build your own applications and use them on it.(sounds cool right…)
With a sleeky design and a strong metal body Google fans are very much impressed with the announcement of Nexus One Technology.
Its got a very cool interface ( ya’d go crazy for sure) and a superb look. Its like the killer of smartphones.
The Nexus One has been launched on January 5, 2010 only for the United States (USA) users for the time being. They’ll be having a party already.
This phone comes with a heavy price tag of $529 for the unlocked version (use any service)and the subsidized for just $179(contract based) which is currently available only in USA with T-Mobile and AT & T mobile service providers.
Very Soon Google will be launching the phone worldwide.
And there’s no particular release date for India.
So Indians’ll have to wait until it releases or they even have an option of buying it in the grey market if google doesn’t release it soon.
Coming to the features-
Its equipped with a Snapdragon processor (Qualcomm QSD 8250) and has a powerful clock speed of 1GHz which is best suited for real time applications on mobiles. You won’t have to wait anymore.
It Comes with a 512 MB of flash memory and another 512 MB of integrated RAM
Its packed with a 4 GB Micro SD Card that can be expandable up to 32 GB. Way to geared up eh? Now you can capture your memorable moments with a high resolution 5 mega pixel camera that has an auto focus and a 2x digital zoom. And the video can be captured at 720 x 480 pixels at 20 frames / sec. Clear cut pictures.
This gadget weighs just about 130g on earth and the dimensions are 119 x 5.8 x 11.5.
This makes it look very light on hand and heavy on features. Totally a strong pete!
And coming to the display part – Its gotta brilliant 3.7 inch wide touch screen supporting a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels with an amazing contrast ration of 100,000:1.
It works on 2g as well as on 3g network. In India there’s a long way to go before 3g could actually launch. And google claims that this phone supports 3 UMTS bands (either 900/AWS/2100 MHz or 850/1900/2100 MHz) , HSDPA 7.2 Mbps , HSUPA 2 Mbps. I really don’t know what exactly this shit is…
Precisely it works really well on any network (2g or 3g) as my friend in USA is a proud owner of a NEXUS ONE. He says that the phone’s really cool. Its even got Wi-Fi(802.11b/g) which is useful to browse wirelessly on the phone (look for wifi hotspots or any kind of wifi leakage around your place so that u can use for free).
Since it supports 3G , it obviously supports 2G network (common sense). And not to worry it even has the bluetooth feature inbuilt for sharing of files within bluetooth enabled devices. And one important feature is th GPS (GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM. Its a boon for regular travellers & explorers who really want to get lost and discover something)
It comes with some great and never heard features on cellphones like “Digital Compass” which actually works like a normal compass giving you the directions and an accelerometer that tell you how fast you are moving. The Wi-Fi positioning system lets you know where exactly you are…, and what exactly you can do…(So you can sneak around like Hitman).
And the best part comes here…
It has a very good battery back of 10hrs on 2G and about 7hrs on 3G
and a good standby time is upto 290hrs 2G and about 240hrs on 3G
While using the internet , the battery lasts for just about 5hrs on 3G
and upto 6 and a half hours sometimes on Wi-Fi
Anyhow its not a problem for music lovers, as it gives a pretty playback time of upto 20hrs and video playback of 7hrs. Rock on!
It supports a wide variety of image formats like JPEG , GIF, PNG, BMP, and high quality video formats like H.263, MPEG-4 SP , H.264 AVC , and almost all kind of audio formats which can be played on a normal computer.
So you might be feeling that you can’t have so many features on a single phone…? Does it sound like another fairy tale? If so sorry numbnuts ,it’s true!
You have to believe this because google can make wonders.
There’s nothing to compromise when it comes to features. It has almost all the features that a smartphone could have.
And it suits all kinds of people.
Although the phone is little expensive , it is sure worth buying as its just amazing. So my recommendation go for it!
